About Jason Wall

Jason Michael Wall - Envinyatar Manveru

What do people call you?

Mostly, people call me Jason. I answer to most anything cause I'm affable. Nicknames common to my experience include but are not limited to Jwall, Jase, and simply J.

Jason, from the Greek, means "He who Heals", and Michael from Hebrew means "Who is like God?". Translated etymologically into the Elvish language of Quenyan "Jason Michael" is "Envinyatar Manveru".

When were you born?

I was born on March 23, 1978. On that day in history during a speech before the second Virginia Convention, Patrick Henry responds to the increasingly oppressive British rule over the American colonies by declaring, "I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!" Cool huh?

What do you love?

I the Fall and early Spring. I enjoy art, but tend to be selective about what I like. I'm fond of poetry with clear meter, rhyme and/or structure. The works of Robert Burns, and especially John Donne are among my favorites, and well as Byron and a few others. I have a fair bit of Celt in my blood, and a certain affinity to their emotion outlook on life. Photography is my hobby and if possible I plan to turn it into something I can live on.

Whats this website about?

This website is about me. :) In some ways it is a way to force myself to stay in tune with trends in web design and web development, as well as to force myself to improve my writing and composition. I use it as an archive and journal of thoughts, observations and important events. Mostly, though I don't think you're supposed to admit it, its a way to show off. I need an audience, crave the knowledge that what I do matters to people.

How do you view your work as an artist?

Art is many things and hard to define. More than anything else, I'm trying to learn and grow. Art, among other things, teaches perception of the world around you, and it encourages you to look deeper at what you see, hear and experience. I practice art as a photographer so that I may be able to more fully enjoy art in all its forms, and so that I may be able to understand what I encounter in the world more fully.

What do you believe?

I believe, like the apostles before me, in God, the Father Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. The third day He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, a holy church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. I believe in the innerrancy and completeness of scripture. And, I believe I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me.
