I saw a great white mountain
It stood still and forlorn
Cast upon a lonely land
A face in stolid form
I went to see that mountain
I thought it called to me
A voice raw with emotion
It called with urgency
You I’ll give adventure
Upon my rocky cleft
Great and wild to behold
Upon the mountain deft
I ranged upon that mountain
I felt its every pore
I stood upon its high peak
I saw the eagle soar
I met strange and wondrous peoples
Tough and hard as the stone
I met strange and beautiful creatures
Where the high wind has blown
Now live I with the mountain
I hear his voiceless cry
I’ll hear that call all my days
Until the day that I die
