I’d like to know exactly what was C.S.Lewis talking about when he said “We are what we believe we are”? Recently an Anglican Dean in Australia was preaching about this and said that Saul (St Paul) was not a bad man, in his own right, because he believed he was doing the right thing when he was persecuting the early church. Following this line of thought I guess we might conclude that Judas and those crucifying our Lord were also “not bad”, and for that matter Al Zarqawi and all of Al-Qaeda etc are “not bad” because they believe they are good men doing God’s will! What sort of postmodern liberal relativism is this? And of course what should we say to a crazy man that believes he is Christ?
