As of right now, a little boy is struggling to live through a bad case of cerebral malaria and a risky blood transfusion performed in Soroti Uganda. He is semi-comatose, responding to pain and occasionally touch, and in need of better medical care than Soroti can provide. They have to wait till morning (its about 3am there) till they can have him air lifted to Kampala. Your prayers would are coveted.
Update: (an excerpt from an email)
Because the medical clinic in Kampala does not have the medical equipment which would be needed if his kidneys failed, our insurance company wants Andrew flown by air ambulance to Johannesburg, South Africa. They leave at 2:00 am local time in Uganda which is 6:00 pm Central time. (7:00 Eastern). The doctors in Kampala had said they wanted to keep him sedated until about Tuesday then try to slowly try to bring him out of it. Pray for the doctors in South Africa will have wisdom making all these decisions. Please pray that Andrew will endure the trip and remain stable. And please pray for his parents and grandparents and the many Ugandans who are also affected by all of this. The missionaries in Soroti are doing all they can to help – spending the night at the hospital last night so Nate and Sara could sleep, meeting the plane, transporting Andrew and parents to the plane (no ambulance available) etc. Marvin and Jewell Wright (grandparents) drove to Kampala as soon as it was light this morning so they could be there with them. I haven’t heard who is going to South Africa. Please continue to pray fervently for this special little MK. Thanks so much.
Update 2:
Thank you all for praying. Andrew is doing much better. He was flown to South Africa over the weekend, and is now awake and more responsive. The tests they have run so far have come back clean. They hope to be able to release him by next Monday. Your prayers are still appreciated, but praise God for what He has done so far. :)
Update 3: June 22 12:03 am
Andrew is doing very well. All tests came back clear, and they hope to be able to release him this weekend. Thanks for all the prayers!

you know.. i’m probably not focusing on the right thing.. but the thing that stands out to me the most is the sentence
“Your prayers would are coveted.”
Blame my English teacher…
My prayers are with him and his loved ones.
