What do people call you?
These days I go by Jason or JWall.
Jason, from the Greek, means “He who Heals”, and Michael from the Hebrew means “Who is like God?”. Translated etymologically into the Elvish language of Quenyan “Jason Michael” is “Envinyatar Manveru”.
When were you born?
I was born on March 23, 1978. On that day in history during a speech before the second Virginia Convention, Patrick Henry responds to the increasingly oppressive British rule over the American colonies by declaring, “I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!”
Whats this website about?
This website is a living document of who I am and was. I keep records of my creative works, thoughts and things I find interesting online. The content on this website goes back to 2001. I’ve grown a lot since then, and not everything written here is what I currently believe, but it is who I was at one time. So keep in mind the dates as you read.
How do you view your work as an artist?
Art has always been a way for me to explore and understand the world around me, to appreciate and elevate things that I see as beautiful. I want o understand, to understand how the world works, understand myself, understand meaning, beauty, and drama.
What do you believe?
I believe, like the apostles before me, in God, the Father Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. The third day He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, a holy church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. I believe in the innerrancy and completeness of scripture. And I believe I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me.
