If you look close you can see the holes in his ears. I don’t know how old the old guy is, but he’s obviously been around the block a few times.

As we were motoring along the Nile, on the west bank this big Bull Elephant was at the rivers edge, drinking and giving himself a bath. He stood there for a good ten minutes, showing off, spraying water, and eating the grass.
I think maybe the guy she was trying to pick up dumped her.
I never really thought about it till I saw them in Africa, but Hippopotamuses are ugly. No. Really.
What’s to say. You wouldn’t think something tha gangly would be so cool. *grin*
The country in the game park was much more like the kind of Africa you see in the movies. I liked the savannah more than the scattered brush you find in the areas around Soroti Town.

This Lioness is one of Abraham’s four wives. The photo reminds me of the movie, Death in the Long Grass. :) I was sitting on top of the Guimon’s SUV and was no more than 40 yards from her.
Abraham is a Lion with a reputation in the Murchison Falls game park. A few days before we drove through, Abraham had jumped over an SUV.
This is a black and white version of this photo. I’m torn between which version I like best.
This is a broader take on this photograph, showing the mother.
This is the second photo of this girl in nearly the same pose. The first can be found here. I like the expression on her face better in this photo.
I think I was startled at just how precious and very small this little girl was.
