Saturday, May 18

Today I woke up early. I know, catch your breath, its ok. It doesn’t happen very often, and its cause for some surprise, but don’t get yourself in a tizzy, you see, I had an appointment to keep. Today I did one of those crazy things I’m known to do from time to time, and I drove down to Arkansas to pick up Ashley for Thanksgiving.

The weather was lovely, and after a very minor mishap with a wrong turn or two, we found ourselves at Harding University, meeting the lovely Miss Ash, who was very cool and quite charming. We spoke and quickley took off, heading for home. We arrive finally in Saint Louis, a little tired but happy, approximately 13 hours after our somewhat belated start at 8:30 this morning.

I now find myself musing, late in the evening hour, picking out the last couple hymns for tomorrow, remembering what is used to be like with certain friends, thinking about how things change, and wondering. Thanksgiving is a great time of the year, and I have much to be thankful for. Its been a little while since we’ve had guests over, and I’m really looking forward to it.

  1. I just would like to know, where is this young miss Ash staying in st. louis? I don’t see her here (oh my that would be troublesome!) and Jason isn’t leaving to go home until wednesday. So I must conclude that she has some local abode to call her own.

look forward to meeting her in person!

  2. well, now! That does make sense. I look forward to meeting this “very cool and charming” young lady!!!!
