Peaceful dreams and thoughtful streams of lilting water pure Drifting oer the soft green moor in sweetest songs of yore Wishing best and healing rest to thee of friendship fast To wake the day with voices gay upon the green green grass

Summer days and Spring time flowers Evenings filled with conversation Autumn winds and Winter bowers Mornings brimmed with anticipation Of a future bright with naught to fear And life to live with those held dear These are gifts that God has given Treasured with each passing season Gifts for which the God of Heaven With might by love for this His reason That He might demonstrate to us The wisdom of His sovereign love

Rejoice oh Christian, saved by God Let never end the sweet refrain Always rejoice for God is good Sing aloud His praise again In all thy works be known of men A man of moderation For soon the Lord of Heav’n and earth Will come to judge thy nation Let not thy cares take over thee Though thy heart is filled with worry But take them to thy caring God And supplicate Him gratefully So shall the peace of mighty God Which passeth understanding Thy heart in Christ shall ever keep So strong and everlasting

See the morning fair and blue Breaking on the western sea Soft and glowing, gold in hue Spreading on the greensward lee Fair the sunrise ere the day She danced within the grassy dell Long hair black and laughing gay There he saw sweet Aranel He watched her neath the sweeping pine Long known to him since childhood Daughter of a noble line With a soul both kind and good And for her his heart failed not The quest that lay before him A heavy weight, a road hard fought Fraught with dangers dark and grim With determined will he…

Oh sweet the rapture of His love How gentle are the nail scarred hands How precious is the wounded side That bore such pain for Love’s demands That bore such pain for Love Precious Jesus, God and King Precious Jesus, Anthems Ring Praises to the Holy Dove Praises to the God above Oh sweet the rapture of His Love Oh rugged cross, Oh symbol bare That bore my Holy God and King An emblem of great sacrifice His selfless act loves message brings His selfless act of love Precious Jesus, God and King Precious Jesus, Anthems Ring Praises to the…

How does one behave when nutty Making baskets and with the bewildered My life has turned into some putty Weaving pond frond still unhindered This my work, my joy, my rapture Beside a river full of reeds In and out the pond fronds go The flowing river is the giver Baskets full and baskets flowing I derive my joy in turn From all the myriads of uses Bewildered baskets made of fern Now to end this ode to leaf A mind half empty not quite there I beg of thee give me relief From this quiet morning air

Beneath the soft dim tungsten lights Small worlds collide with random purpose Intent upon the stratagem It flies across the soft green surface A battle on a cosmic table Arrayed in lines like Pythagoras Slowly each small world has fallen And in the end they all have left us

In the silent stillness lay A broken man devoid of life Existence lived on weary roads Running from the constant strife And emptiness of sin Yet amongst the cold dark ash There a gift, a spark is given Hope springs fresh from Holy Hands Pierced by nail, whose side was riven By a cruel Roman spear Rise up Oh Man in gratitude Live thy life with Fortitude Love the man who bore thy cross And turned to silver life from dross In the silent stillness lay The peace of God in humble hearts Dependant on a God of love We…

I look upon a snow white sea At the crystal flakes on yonder lee And nature whispers in my ear The very hand of God is near And I pause in genuflection I consider His resurrection And the birth that preceded The precious gift that exceeded The greatest gift that came before So great it remaineth for evermore

How blithely we walk into sins evil door Not heeding wise council, thinking it poor Considering not the destruction we cause To those whom we touch with sins awful claws Oh horrible wretched man that I am Deserving of death and hells fiery span Casting my gift so precious and bought With grieving on Calvary’s hill it was sought Yet still His love comes without ceasing Washing me clean, my troubled soul easing Why I know not, for at times I resist it But ever it comes, I can not escape it Thus I am born a new man before…

They say shadow lies before the dawn And in the midst of sorrow borne Before the darkness gathers in A shadow makes spirit forlorn Into heaviness the heart is drawn But the shadow is a feeble fiend It can not stand before our King When He comes in all His glory A real contentment He will bring The shadow banished, we redeemed

And at times I pause in muse How would this life be If by chance I didn’t meet Those who mean much to me Forsooth said I, in wonder Astonishment arose I would divide asunder Great would be the throes But such thing has not occurred And all is well with me For God has shown me mercy Content I am to be

Goodnight to thee So said the sun to the fair good morning As the evening drifted on And nightingales sang slumber sweetly The sunny days are gone Sleep fair fine friend So said the gloaming to the east wood wind And see the stars shine in the sky Where larks and jays do spend their days And fluffy clouds drift by

When skies are gray and evening falls And all around you winter calls Its time to rest and to retreat From the pace of the city street Take to your houses one and all Gather round with children small And share the warmth of winters love Wrapped in a blanket from above This is why I love Christmas day The gifts of joy and time to play And time to pause and to remember when Jesus came that cold December

I walk in lands of waking dreams Not all I see is what it seems A mystery was left unsolved Strange enigma to be resolved So I spend my slumbering hour Till the dawn a sunlit tower Across the dark gray ground will creep And wake me from my dream filled sleep

Love hath given life to my aching soul By death on a tree on a dark gray knoll Joy through death then compassed this ailing land And brought to us a peace by His fair hand A peace that passeth our comprehension And sooths our fiery raging passion Thus we may suffer long with joy and care There will be no burden that we can’t bear And with our suffering gentleness brings Softening our heart until out of it springs Goodness that we may bless all those around And help them with trials that thus abound From the working of…

Oh for a rose as sweet as thee I’d climb a mountain on bended knee To catch a glimpse of thy sweet face And clothe thee in a delicate lace For thy beauty overwhelms the deepest part Of my soul You are a vision fair and white In purest clarity of my sight A thing of beauty to behold In a precious house of shining gold To be valued all the days that time affords To my heart A joy that moves me to great deeds To the crafting of the finest creeds And the declaration of the greatest things…

I thought about my dad today And how he used to study With bible open, notes spread wide He’d read so diligently I’ve always known my fathers faith His quiet ways and habits He loved the Lord with faithfulness And served with real commitments My faith is real and growing strong Because my father studied And lived his life with godliness And with faith his sons did lead
