I was doing some figuring today, and since I started walljm.com two years ago, I have written 593 posts, posted 381 photos, composed 108 poems, and created 7 wallpapers. Not bad, if I don’t say so myself.

Abstract Rust Coloring on a Stone Wall. I’m really enjoying this series of shots from sun drenched locations. Go Karenika. Oland, Sweden. This scene reminds me of Africa. Rich blue skies, vibrant greens, and that cool tree there off to the right.HakySac. I used to be big into that.Doe Eyed Trio. More heartachingly beautiful soft focus photos from David Nightingale.

Street Painting. This reminds me of the religious art of the Renaissance, only with a modern urban twist. Excellent piece.Beautiful baby, a hallmark/kodak moment if ever there one was. Also, Spring Time Field.Golden Gate Bustle.Chrome.Great B&W Alter Shot.Couple.Green!Lonely. Sara’s photo here reminds me of the sixties. The somewhat grayish black and white images of people in old surroundings and bellbottoms.Oh Starry Night. At least.. it looks like that to me.Cherry Blossoms. With a lovely grain.Volvo. I love old cars with that oversaturated feel.

Ronald Reagan was our 40th President. I was too young to really know him during his office, but I am profoundly grateful for what he did for our country. Goodbye Mr. President.

Just for you, cause your special, I’m gonna post on Saturday. :)Highway Cones. Its Mr. Ed!Cherubs, looking very much unlike the biblical cherub, which was way manly. Photos like this epitomize europe for me.Lonely in Red. It seems artsy… probly because it seems moody. :DPost. Somehow lovely.Portrait, by Infrangible. He does great portraits of people.Michael and Willie.Vibrant Flower.Fence.

I have a problem with blurry photos, and I’ve been searching around the net doing research on why. Having spent a good four to six months evaluating different reasons and doing a bit of experimentation, I’d like to share a bit of what I learned.Sharpness is one of the big key points most photographers look at when evaluating quality. If you shoot digital, as I do, there are a number of different reasons why you could be having issues with blurry or soft images. Those issues fall into three basic categories, User Error, Equipment Quality, and Rounding Errors in Digital…

Cool Passion. I’m not sure why its called that. The photo grabs my attention, but I can’t explain why. Something about the contrast of the structure at the top of the photo.Adriac Home. He calls it "Thick Walls". I like mediteranian photos. There is something about the crispness of the blue and white often found there.Bucolic Country Scene. Lovely shades of brown. So rich.Girl with Umbrella. Karenika had had some lovely little ones featured on her blog lately.View from a Backyard. A meloncholly scene with a delicate touch both sweet and bitter.Portait of a Woman. It seems as though she…

I am a student of the Ching-I Chuan style of KungFu and when I read this article on The Analytics of Pitching my curiosity was piqued. In Ching-I we are taught that power is generated by the hips, using the mechanics of the body to drive power into whatever strike we use. Now, with motion capture, pitchers are being taught scientifically those same methods. Interesting.

Here are today’s selection, an eclectic mix. Enjoy! This gull looks like the chicken in the muppets. I swear.Hurry.This statue looks tired. I can commiserate with him.An Alley in Barcelona, Spain. I have a fascination with alleys. They seem to hold some sort of romance not found on the main thoroughfare. Perhaps it is because sword fights often took place in alleys. Especially in Spain. :)A cityscape panorama, taken at night. Very cool.Barrel Texture. Exquisite.Today’s collection brought to you by the letter "P".

Romance in the City done in sepia.Intimate Portrait sepia seeming.Child. Speia toned (a theme today it seems)Portugese Festival.Urban Decay.

Least of all me. Rance has a blog though, and its making its rounds in the media. I’m not big fan of memes or fads, but my roomate is currently in DC studying screenwriting, and I thought he might enjoy this supposed look into the lives of a real hollywood actor or actress, whatever the case may be. :)

A complex scene of a crosswalk. The use of bokeh here allows the scene a bit more simplicity than a sharper photograph. The figures take on a sort of everyman feel, allowing you to put yourself in their place.Dandilion seeds. David uses bokeh here also, though more subtly. This shot has impact, an intense focus on the subject.Fire engine red. Distraught Little Girl, is adorable.
