Since I’ve been away, and you might be curious, I thought I would spend some time explaining what I’ve been doing with Walljm.com for the past couple months.Walljm.com is home grown, hand coded and a grand experiment in evolutionary software development. I don’t have the advantage of using a CMS being continually improved by some group of talented people. Walljm.com was, in the begining, an excercise in code, a chance to prove to myself I could do it, and also to teach myself the skills I needed to compete in this industry. But the problem was, walljm.com grew into somethign more…

Walljm.com is undergoing a massive restructuring internally. You won’t notice much, but trust me, the foundations are moving beneath your feet. :)Posting will likely not occur for several weeks while things gets fixed and changed. Like Paulo before me, I’ll be off the air. Also, things may or may not work sporadically, and commenting will be turned off as well, as there are migration issues, and I don’t want stuff getting lost while in transition. You can email me if you have questions, and the contact form will still work as usual. Sorry for the inconvenience. Do take a look…

A Misty scene on some farm. I have a particular soft spot for shots like this. They remind me of Scotland and early mornings on the moors, an experience I’ve never had but wish longingly for.Night Scene. The title doesn’t really give the photo justice.ARKHEE. These photos are disturbing, but this particular one struck me as poignant.

Sarah did this quiz over on her Live Journal, and I was in the right mood, so I took the bait. According to the How to be a Hero website I am a Palladin. My profile looks like this:You’re compassionate, forward-thinking, and devoted to doing the right thing. If you’re still in school, your teachers probably adore you, even if your grades aren’t very strong. If you work, you’re more concerned with doing your job well than climbing the corporate ladder. When it comes to leisure, you’d rather pursue the arts, spend time in nature, or enjoy quiet time with…

I used to tell people that a person studies and imitates the masters work in order to understand the techniques used to create them. Only after we understand the tools and methods of whatever craft we pursue are we able to let out the creativity we hold within ourselves.Michael Reichmann iterates that principle in his latest article Practice Mutha, Practice. The truly great are seperated from the mediocre often only by the amount of effort they put into their work. Take note.

My roomate is off in Rome traipsing around the Italian countryside, and my little brother is at home for spring break which leaves me at home all by myself. … Its kinda weird, as I haven’t been alone for any extended period of time for nearly two years.
